Today in our Gospel Assembly, we marked the tenth anniversary of Pope Francis becoming pope. Mrs Walker explained how this linked to our social catholic teachings:
‘Dignity for the human person‘ – Pope Francis has called for us to ‘welcome the stranger’ by ensuring that migrants and refugees are able to leave their homelands without risking their lives so they can live safely and with dignity.
‘Care of our Common Home – Stewardship’ Pope Francis wrote the encyclical letter Ladauto Si
‘Common good’ After the pandemic, Pope Francis also encouraged us to build back as a better world. He released Fratelli Tutti, an encyclical letter about not rushing back to life post covid but finding a new normal.
