‘The experience of new activities, adventure, challenges while being away from the normal routines of home and school helps develop confidence, resilience, and the important sense of independence.’

Children at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary Academy have multiple opportunities to experience a residential during their time at school.

Our children have the opportunity to visit The Kingswood Trust, during their time in Year’s 1 and 2 with an overnight residential.

The Kingswood Trust delivers Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) activities for schools and other groups through day visits, programmes of activities and residential stays for one or more nights. The Kingswood Trust provides carefully planned activities that support the school’s curriculum delivery, offering challenging, exciting and memorable experiences to help children learn.

During their time in Year’s 5 and 6, the children will have the opportunity to attend a residential that includes staying away for two nights. On the last few occasions, SS Peter and Paul have attended Culmington Manor in Shropshire which is part of Manor Adventure. The school has attended here as it provides further opportunities for the children to develop characteristics from the SSPP Learner Profile.
