Challenge Updates… #SSPPgoingthatextramile

This week has seen some of our staff, parents and children starting their challenges for the upcoming National School Sport Week.

Mrs Griffiths, Miss Evans and Miss Higgins have started their marathon runs over a week. Mrs Murphy has started to climb the equivalent of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mr Morgan has started his two marathon runs over 10 days. Mr Griffiths and Mrs Tudor have also started their own cycling challenges!

Our children and parents have been getting involved as well, with walking 100k over a week and riding their bikes around West Park!

We’re going the extra mile for you!

During National School Sport Week, SS Peter and Paul are going the extra mile in a series of sporting challenges to raise money for outdoor provision at the school but also to help promote healthy well-being and living.

Year 4/5 Molineux Visit

On Wednesday as part of their history week, Years 4 and 5 went to visit the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. As part of their local history focus, both classes visited the stadium’s museum to learn about the club’s history but were also lucky enough to get a tour of the stadium as it is now.

Pancake Day in Early Years

Geography Projects Exhibition

On Friday, we invited family into visit each class to see the wonderful Geography projects that have been created. Families, children and the teachers were able to visit each classroom and question the children on their projects and their learning from their wider curriculum week.

Early Years Outdoor Area

The Early Years team and children would like to thank the families who joined us in our outdoor area on Wednesday 29th January for their hard work and support. They were tasked with shoveling soil, transporting it in wheelbarrows and filling the digging area and planting areas. They also helped to move bags of stones and gravel which have been placed in tyres to enhance the environment further. This is just the beginning and we will be looking for more willing volunteers in the coming weeks…

Number One in the City!

The school league tables based on 2019 Key Stage 2 results were published on Friday 13th December. We are delighted to share that, out of all Wolverhampton schools, SS Peter and Paul has been ranked 1st for overall performance!

Whilst academic performance is but one measure of what we do as a school, we are proud to have the work we do recognised in this way.

Well done to our pupils, staff and governors. Thank you to parents as always for your valued support.

Nursery rhyme event

Early years are celebrating World Nursery Rhyme this week, and on Wednesday welcomed families to join in with rhyme related activities, before singingĀ the 5 rhymes from the ‘Rhyme a Day’ challenge. Those rhymes are Baa Baa Black Sheep, Two Little Dicky Birds, Down in the Jungle, Row Row Row Your Boat and Incy Wincy Spider. A big thank you to all who attended.

Aldi – Kit for Schools Competition

We did it!!! Thanks to the dedication of our school community, we have managed to complete our Aldi Kit for Schools Poster. This means that we will be rewarded with some new sports kit and additionally, go into the competition to win £20,000.

Thank you to all parents, staff and children that brought in stickers to complete the poster!
