We are PLATINUM!

After 9 years in the making, we are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

You can only go for the Platinum award after being Gold for 4 years and even then you have to present a case study on a chosen area to be judged on whether you have hit the criteria needed. We are extremely proud to be one of only 5 Platinum primary schools in Wolverhampton – what an incredible achievement!

Black Country Games – Tag Rugby

Today, we were so proud to have represented Wolverhampton in the Black Country Games for Tag Rugby. Our first time attending and the children were phenomenal.

They narrowly lost their first three games 4-3 (including to the eventual finalists) before winning 6-4 and 5-1 in their last two games. Every child contributed with tries and their respect and attitude was superb – and commented on by the rugby club. Well done!

Art Competition

Congratulations to Laura, who came 3rd in the whole city for the Wolverhampton Arts Festival ‘Walking with Wolves’ schools competition. All the entries were on display in the Mander Centre and people could vote for their favourite. We are very proud of Laura, and she was awarded with a wonderful art set that she can use to continue her talent!

Wolverhampton Arts Festival – Schools Competition

Well done to all of the children who took part in the Wolverhampton Arts Festival ‘Walking with Wolves’ schools competition. As you can see, some of our artists made it through to the public voting stage! 
 
The works are now on display inside the Mander Centre, from 1st July – 6th July, with public voting open. The winners will be announced on stage in Victoria Street on Sunday, 7th July at 1pm by a special guest.
 
All the participating children and their families are invited, there will be lots of live performances and workshops – perfect for families.

Writing Competition Winner

Congratulations to Obehi, who was our overall school winner for the Wolverhampton 500 2024 competition. The focus of this competition was around refugees. We are very proud of Obehi and she got to collect her prize from Cllr Coogan at the Wolverhampton Civic Centre.

Family Feast Day

Last Friday, we celebrated our Saints Peter and Paul’s Feast Day but having a Family Fun Event! There were lots of activities for the children to have a go at including: soak the teacher (which was extremely popular), a bouncy castle, sporting games, a S’more making activity in our outdoor classroom and many more!

This was extremely well-attended by our entire community and we are so proud of everyone’s support and positive feedback to the event. We look forward to sharing how much we raised in the near future!

Year 4 Flutes

Year 4 have been learning to play the flute this year with Mrs Lakin from the Wolverhampton Music School. Yesterday, they performed a number of songs and tunes for their parents.
