Today, we took part in the Primary Molineux Cup. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t the best but this didn’t damped the occasion. Our children did ever so well coming third in our group with some strong performances from Stephanie, Savannah and Monika, who scored a goal in the first match!
Congratulations to our pupils who received the sacrament of First Holy Communion on Saturday evening in a beautiful service on the Feast of Pentecost.

Today we are acknowledging endangered species day by dressing as animals and donating money to the World Wide Fund for Nature!
Today we were very proud to enter a Year 3/4 team into the annual Tony McGinn festival.
Tony McGinn was a teacher at St Michael’s Catholic Academy (part of our St Francis and St Clare MAC), and was passionate about sport, especially football doing wonderful work in the city of Wolverhampton. Sadly, Tony passed away in June 2021 after a battle against cancer and in remembrance of him, a football festival was set up in his name and we were very proud and honoured to be part of this event.
The children played a round robin event with matches against 9 other teams. The children played brilliantly, with a tremendous attitude that Tony would have been proud of!
On Wednesday, the STEM response team from Wolverhampton University came into lead a workshop for our Year 5 children on forces and magnets. This linked in really well with the children’s learning in Science and they loved all the experiments they were able to take part in!
Reception enjoyed their visit to our local library. They listened to and shared stories with their families and friends. Elizabeth the librarian also taught us 2 new rhymes.
We have been celebrating National Numeracy a week early at SSPP. Children have been playing Numbots Bingo, creating Numberblocks bottle rockets and thinking about their vocation in the future and how that relates to maths.
This afternoon, classes across school took part in a National Mental Health Week awareness Assembly. This year’s theme is thinking about how movement supports our mental well being as well as our physical.
