The children in Key Stage 2 had the privilegeĀ of working with representatives from Balfour Beatty. They found out about a range of careers in construction and then they had the chanceĀ to apply their problem solving skills and design skills whilst working in groups to design and build the tallest / most profitable tower. In the afternoon, the volunteers from Balfour Beatty cleared and tidied our school garden and they also spruced up our vegetableĀ beds. Thank you to each of the volunteers for giving up their time for our pupils and our school.
Paul Wilcox, from the Wolverhampton Music School, came in to see our Key Stage 1 classes this afternoon. This gave the children the chance to showcase their skills from our Music Curriculum in school!
They had the opportunity to all sing solo, play instruments and move in time to the music. Paul introduced the children to a African djembe drum and the children used their instruments in time to the beat of the music.
Today we had our (rearranged) Sports Day in school! Despite being a bit drizzly this morning, the children persevered and competed really well in their events!
This afternoon, our older children competed with some wonderful examples of competitiveness, resilience and perseverance – excellent traits of our SSPP children!
Thank you to everyone that attended and purchased refreshments and books!
Yesterday, our football team enjoyed a friendly match against one of the schools in our MAC – SS Mary and Johns. It was a really enjoyable game, with both teams playing some excellent football! The game ended 2-2 so we decided to do a penalty shoot out, which came down to the last penalty with SS Mary and John’s winning 1-0 in the shoot out!
Reception enjoyed a fabulousĀ trip to Lower Drayton Farm. We went on a tractor and trailer ride, met and held different pets and animals and had fun in the soft play area. Everyone had a super time!
Our Year 5 children participated in the Catholic Primary Athletics Event yesterday at Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy.
The children took part in a range of events against other schools including: 100m, 200m, obstacle, relay, standing long jump and chest throw.
Overall, SS Peter and Paul came 2nd, what a fantastic achievement! Well done to all the children involved!
This morning, our Year 2 Class delivered a class liturgy on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.Ā The children thought about and discussed who they are thankful for most in their hearts. There were some really thoughtful and loving answers, which show how appreciative our children are about the support they see given to others and also the support they receive personally.
