Catholic Primary Athletics Event

Our Year 5 children participated in the Catholic Primary Athletics Event yesterday at Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy.

The children took part in a range of events against other schools including: 100m, 200m, obstacle, relay, standing long jump and chest throw.

Overall, SS Peter and Paul came 2nd, what a fantastic achievement! Well done to all the children involved!

Nursery Library Visit

Many of our families joined us on a visit to Whitmore Reans library.
Children enjoyed story and rhyme time with the children’s librarian Elisabeth, and made a monkey mask or owl hat. They also became members of Wolverhampton libraries and borrowed a book.

Class Liturgy – Year 2

This morning, our Year 2 Class delivered a class liturgy on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. The children thought about and discussed who they are thankful for most in their hearts. There were some really thoughtful and loving answers, which show how appreciative our children are about the support they see given to others and also the support they receive personally.

Procession of the Holy Sacrament

Children from our school and parish led a procession into the city centre on the Feast of Corpus Christi. Children wore their First Holy Communion outfits or special occasion clothes to carry flowers and spread petals before a procession of the Blessed Sacrament. This was well attended and pupils were able to share their experience in Gospel assembly on Monday. Year 4 visit to Wroxeter – the Roman city

Report by a Year 4 Pupil:

When we went on a trip to Wroxeter Roman City, it was a great experience for all of us. When we got there we could see lots of Roman buildings. We went into the bath houses and there was a cold room, warm room and a hot room. The cold room was a big bath with freezing water in it. The warm room had warm water in the bath. We went to where the changing room would be and boys and girls had to get changed together, which is different to now.

The Romans really liked bright colours so the walls would have been painted bright colours. Some of the Romans were very cruel, they would have sent children underneath the bathhouse floors to clean. If they got stuck, they wouldn’t help them get out. We really enjoyed going as it reactivated our knowledge from our History lessons.

 

Girl’s Football Kit Launch

Before half term, we were very lucky to have Anna Price, the Wolves Women Captain, visit our school to present our girl’s football team with their new kit that was a result of the Recomony and Wolves Foundation project we have been part of.

She answered the girl’s questions and shared her own experience of girl’s football. She was a wonderful role model and someone the girl’s can look up to considering she was brought up in the local area.

Wolves Foundation Cup

Today, our Year 5/6 Boys and Girls Football teams competed in the Wolves Foundation Cup at Molineux.

This was the first time the girls have worn their new kit, which was made from recycled plastic bottles collected in the project with Reconomy and Wolves Foundation.
