We are delighted to announce that we, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary Academy, have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
With our young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
Today, we continued our Feast day (Rainbow Day) celebrations by having a Colour Run in school! The children have been asked to raise sponsorship to help develop an amphitheatre on the school grounds! As you can see from the images, a wonderful day was had in school, and we look forward to seeing how much money has been raised!
This afternoon, 33 of our Year 5 and 6 children graduated from Children’s University! They have been rewarded for all the extra work they have been putting in to their development and learning!
The prestigious event took place in the Chancellor’s Hall in Wolverhampton University. Thank you to the parents who came to support and celebrate their children’s achievements.
Today we are celebrating the feast of our Saints, Peter and Paul! Our Liturgy Leaders organised a wonderful mass this morning and tomorrow we are continuing the celebrations with our colour run in school!

The children in Key Stage 2 had the privilege of working with representatives from Balfour Beatty. They found out about a range of careers in construction and then they had the chance to apply their problem solving skills and design skills whilst working in groups to design and build the tallest / most profitable tower. In the afternoon, the volunteers from Balfour Beatty cleared and tidied our school garden and they also spruced up our vegetable beds. Thank you to each of the volunteers for giving up their time for our pupils and our school.
Paul Wilcox, from the Wolverhampton Music School, came in to see our Key Stage 1 classes this afternoon. This gave the children the chance to showcase their skills from our Music Curriculum in school!
They had the opportunity to all sing solo, play instruments and move in time to the music. Paul introduced the children to a African djembe drum and the children used their instruments in time to the beat of the music.
Today we had our (rearranged) Sports Day in school! Despite being a bit drizzly this morning, the children persevered and competed really well in their events!
This afternoon, our older children competed with some wonderful examples of competitiveness, resilience and perseverance – excellent traits of our SSPP children!
Thank you to everyone that attended and purchased refreshments and books!
Yesterday, our football team enjoyed a friendly match against one of the schools in our MAC – SS Mary and Johns. It was a really enjoyable game, with both teams playing some excellent football! The game ended 2-2 so we decided to do a penalty shoot out, which came down to the last penalty with SS Mary and John’s winning 1-0 in the shoot out!
