Today we went to the KS2 All Aboard Festival together with other schools. The sports we did were tennis, a gym session, dodgeball, croquet, squash and archery. In tennis we practiced different tennis skills and learned what the parts of the racket were called and some famous tennis players names like Roger Federer.
When we had the gym session, we did races with exercises which was very tiring. Next, we did dodgeball with a twist because we hit rackets with balls. After that we tried croquet which was new to all of us but we enjoyed it. Then we played squash where we hit the balls against the wall with the rackets and tried balancing the ball whilst walking around the court. Finally, it was archery and we learned how to hold the bow and arrow and how to shoot properly. All the schools then had a photo taken together. IT WAS A GREAT DAY .

Our children had their first football game of the year against Castlecroft tonight! The team consisted of children from across Key Stage 2 as they had an opportunity to represent their school. The boys unfortunately lost on the evening, but battled so well and really did themselves proud!
Our new football kit, which was designed by our own Year 5 child Leroy, finally arrived today and was used for the first time.
We have also included the badge for the Oliver King Foundation in recognition for the money raised to get a defibrillator in school!
Reception ended their week of learning about Diwali by making Sparklers during Forest Friday. We talked about keeping safe during the weekend, when we may experience more firework fun!
Here are our children that have been nominated for praise this week.
Years 1 and 2 had a fantastic time at the Grand Theatre yesterday! The wonderful author and illustrator, Catherine Rayner, read – not one, not two, not three, but FOUR of her books to the children and taught them how to draw some of the characters from her books. We love reading at SS Peter and Paul and it was great to see a real author and illustrator live on stage!

Well done to our Year 5 and 6 children who competed in today’s heat for the Education Library Services Game4Reading Challenge! They all showed a good understanding of a range of books and authors and their love for reading really shone through!
