Last week, some children were nominated by their teachers to have a surprise visit to the Wolves stadium. The children got to meet Wolfie and had a tour of the stadium including sitting in the Wolves changing room!
All the children started their day by having a breakfast of cereal and beans on toast! They then stripped their beds, before making them ready for the next school to visit tomorrow!
We then put on our walking boots and walked to Kingswood common, making potions and nests for different types of birds!
The children are just about to have a lunch of meatballs and pasta before getting ready to come back to school!
The children arrived at Kingswood and the first thing they did was unpack their bags in their bedroom for the night. The children then split into two groups and did their first activities of pond dipping and an Owl Trail!
The children just had a lunch of sausage, mash and vegetables and are currently out for a play time!
This afternoon, the children have done animal feeding, shelter building and orienteering!
Yesterday, as part of their link with Children’s University, Year 5 children went to visit City Campus in Wolverhampton. This included a tour of the buildings and an explanation of what to expect in University life.
Their first activity included working in groups to design their own university using lego. Each group was given a specific part of the university to design and build:
After sitting and having lunch, which was provided by the university, the children were introduced to all the possible courses that are available at university. This included activities like; guess the career, how many jobs are there in a hospital… This was really eye-opening for our children as it really broadened their minds as to the amount of careers out there for them in the future. Our many thanks go to the Wolverhampton University outreach team who arranged this for us.
Congratulations to Year 4 who won the Times Table Rockstars Battle last week! Here are the final results:
It is really good to see Year 4 working so hard on these with their multiplication check later in the year!
Our top performers were:
Mohamad – Y4
Media – Y3
Victor – Y5
Well done everyone! Certificates and gifts will be given out today!
Congratulations to our Year 6 children last night who took park in their Sacrament of Confirmation at St Michael’s Church. This was a lovely evening, supported by the children’s friends and families. Thank you to Miss Higgins for organising this event.
SS Peter and Paul have won the National Parliament Award for School of the Year. Yesterday, Mrs Byrne and some pupils (past and present) went to London to accept the award from the Houses of Parliament on the schools behalf.
A huge thank you to our entire school community as without your support and backing for our #SSPPthebeatgoeson campaign, none of this would have been possible.
Yesterday, our local Police Community Support Office (PCSO) visited our Year 4 class to discuss about Antisocial Behaviour in the community. The children were really engaged and took the opportunity to ask lots of interesting questions around recent issues that may be happening in our local area.
After Easter, our Year 3 and 5 class will also be having a class visit.
