Congratulations to our own Rosie in Year 4, who has achieved first prize in the ‘There is No Planet B’ children’s poetry compeition.
Rosie’s poem, entitled ‘Time for Change’ combined excellent rhyming, questions and facts about our Earth to win this wonderful award!
Well done Rosie!
Yesterday, SS Peter and Paul were part of a live Zoom chat with Wolves stars Ruben Neves and Rui Patricio, who spoke about nutrition and keeping fit at an elite level! Well done to Lucy, who came up with a brilliant question for the players!
A recording of the meet will be available soon for those children at home!
It is official, SS Peter and Paul have won the GoReadathon competition. Please see this message from Mrs Byrne.
Dear children,
I am delighted to be able to tell you that we have come first in the Big GoReadthon competition! With your hard work, enthusiasm and efforts we have achieved something extraordinarily special. To win a BIG compeition like this, against many schools far and wide, at a time when schools are not open as they normally would be, is an incredibly special achievement. You know that I personally hoped that we could do well in the competition; I know that we love reading, we recognise how important it is, our staff are passionate about reading and we aim to try our best. I did not expect that we would win overall because so many schools are registered to use GoRead, and so many schools champion reading expertly. I could not be more proud because we have had a bit of fun encouraging and promoting the compeition along the way. We have shared and tracked daily results and we have come together as the BEST TEAM with a shared goal of doing the very best we could. You can’t do better than first. I can’t wait to share the trophy with you all. Well done to every single one of you. Thank your parents for their support and contribution, thank your teachers and support staff for encouraging you, then give yourself a pat on the back for being NUMBER 1!
Have a wonderful half term, stay safe, be good, patient and happy.

Last week at SS Peter and Paul, we were raising awareness during Child’s Mental Health Week.
During the week, children and staff were encouraged to share pictures or drawings of what they were grateful for to contribute to the mile of smiles!
Staff, children in school and at home also celebrated inside out day on Wednesday to promote sharing our feelings! Lot’s of children wore all or part of their clothing inside out!
