Sports Day 2019

By Mr J Morgan17th July 2019

A lovely day was had by all last Thursday for our annual Sports Day and we were so thankful the rain held off!

All children competed and enjoyed themselves cheering each other on and showing tremendous sportsmanship.

A wonderful turn out by family and friends to support the children and donations were made to raise money for a school defibrillator. Thank you for our parent volunteers for running the refreshment stall.

Thank you and well done to Mr Griffiths for organising his first Sports Day.

The creativity and performances truly were special with some stand out performances from Mujtaba, Ernestas and Saya with her solo performance without any musical backing. A massive congratulations to all children involved.

A special thanks to Miss Higgins, Mrs O’Leary and Nicole for their hard work to put thi show together.

Years 4 and 5 go to Scifest!

By Mr J Morgan9th July 2019

On Friday, Years 4 and 5 attended Scifest at Wolverhampton University along with other schools from across Wolverhampton.

The children attended various workshops including focuses on animals, rockets, coding for drones, social experiments and the invisible world (looking at organisms through microscopes). There was also an opportunity for children to look around the stalls and take part in a wider range of technology and experiments including: burning iron, virtual reality, reactions testing, construction, gaming and many more.

The children’s behaviour was impeccable as always – what a wonderful experience.

Gold Again!

By Mr J Morgan3rd July 2019

We are delighted to announce that SS Peter and Paul have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2018/19 academic year (and second consecutive year).

The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in
2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of
participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that
the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

This demonstrates the school’s commitment to our children for developing the body as well as mind and spirit of each and every one of them.

Nursery visit Cannock Chase

By Mr J Morgan3rd July 2019

Nursery children visited the Marquis Drive Visitors Centre, Cannock Chase on Tuesday 25th June, supported by Tanglewood outdoor learning. They became nature detectives and explored nature’s palette, which is outdoor natural art.

Despite the weather, which was rainy and damp, a great time was had by all. Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day, and to parents and carers for ensuring the children were equipped for the day.

Newhampton Art Centre Production

By Mr J Morgan25th June 2019

On Wednesday, the much anticipated productions of ‘Beowuld’ and ‘Anti-Bullying’ by Year 4 and 5 were performed on stage at the Newhampton Art Centre. The children from both classes have produced the majority of the production themselves: script writing, designing backdrops, stage transitioning and building props. There was also an opportunity to display their work in the exhibition hall.

Both performances were show-stopping and revealed some hidden talents for performing from many children. Thank you to all the parents, family members, governors that attended and supported the pupils. They were truly marvellous and a credit to the school – well done!
