The charity National Numeracy and Times Tables Rock Stars have teamed up for a Rocking and Rolling Numbers live event, to get children across the UK feeling positive and confident about maths.
Number rolling is a catchy call-and-response chant with accompanying actions that help kids feel good about numbers.
At 9.30am today, our children joined the live stream and were part of this brilliant event, and amazingly, they did set a NEW GUINESS WORLD RECORD!!!
Yesterday, Miss Barrett took her school choir to join in ‘Singing in the Rain’ in Queen Square. The children who attended, really did her proud at this brilliant city school get together.

To support the emotional well-being of our children, we now have a team of Play leaders who organise lunchtime games for both KS1 and 2 promoting team work, social skills and confidence.
To help prepare them for this role, the children are receiving after school training on active listening, the use of open questioning and the ABC method of problem-solving so they are equipped to help children on the playground who may be feeling worried or upset.
Year 3 have been working with an Artist, Amanda Yates over the past few weeks.
This week, children from year 3 and 4 took part in a dodgeball competition at Aldersley Village. They demonstrated brilliant catching, throwing and dodging abilities along with exceptional sportsmanship. If you see them around school, be sure to congratulate them on their achievement.
To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, our children took park in the #Take10toRead moment, supported by Ant and Dec. Our children spent 10 minutes in the day reading their favourite books!
Last week, Year 3 had a brilliant first session for their Sculpture Project with local artist – Manda Yates. They created Caulder-style wire sculptures and Barbara Hepworth-style soap sculptures. They also practised rock balancing, in the style of Andy Goldworthy. Here is a selection of images from the day.
