SS Peter and Paul have entered the ‘England Rocks’ Times Table Rockstars competition!

Starting on Monday 8th November at 7:30 am and finishing Thursday 11th November at 7:30 pm, children can login and answer as many questions as they can!

Every correct answer earns the class a point. You can play in all game modes to earn points for your class.

  • Garage

The class score will be 4000 ÷ 25 = 160.

The class with the highest average is the winner.

1st place: £100 gift card

2nd place: £90 gift card

Visit to Parliament

3rd November 2021Mr J Morgan

On Monday, our School Council were very fortunate to experience a trip to London and a tour of the Houses of Parliament. Our local MP – Stuart Anderson – met the children and walked with them on the tour, answering questions that they had.

The children found out about how the Houses of Parliament used to be a palace for the royal family, and walked through the robing room, the Royal Gallery, the House of Lords, central lobby and finished in the House of Commons, where our Prime Minister speaks.

The children then had lunch by the River Thames before walking through Whitehall, past the World War One and Two memorials, then up to Trafalgar Square and to see Nelson’s Column.

An interesting, and exciting day was had by all – and the children were complimented on their excellent questioning and behaviour throughout. Thank you to St Edmunds’ for lending their minibus to transport the children to London.

School Council Meet Lord Russell of Liverpool

17th October 2021Mr J Morgan
On Friday, some of our school Council enjoyed a Learn with the Lords Online session, meeting Lord Russell of Liverpool and were able to ask him very informative questions. They found out all about how Lords are given their name, and what their role is within the House of Lords. Additionaly, the children also found out how he became a Lord and how he got the name Lord Russell of Liverpool.
The children came up with really interesting questions like ‘If Lord Russell could change one law, what would it be?’ His response was that he would like to lower the voting age to 16, as he is passionate on combating climate change, and our children are the ones that are going to have to live through this, so should be able to vote.
Thank you to UK Parliament Education for providing this amazing opportunity.

Blessed Carlo Acutis Mass

13th October 2021Mr J Morgan

Yesterday, Father Mark led Mass in school with children in attendance for the first time in over 18 months. The children behaved reverently throughout as Father Mark spoke to us about Blessed Carlo Acutis. The younger classes that were not in attendance, watched and joined in via a live stream to their classroom.

Laptop Donation from Wolves Tech Aid and United Sikhs

8th October 2021Mr J Morgan

We were very grateful today to welcome some visitors into school with a donation of 8 laptops to support the learning of the children at our school, who have suffered due to Covid-19.

Pat McFadden MP, together with Wolves Foundation set up Wolves Tech Aid, and they have kindly been working with other parties such as ‘Learn Play Foundation’ and United Sikhs’ to provide refurbished laptops to schools across Wolverhampton to help support learning.

We were very fortunate today to welcome these guests to our school to provide us with these devices, and even had a special guest as Wolfie turned up!

Thank you to everyone involved!

Hello Yellow Day 2021

8th October 2021Mr J Morgan

Today at SS Peter and Paul, we have celebrated Hello Yellow Day to promote our well-being in school.

Children and staff dressed in yellow and took park in lots of activities throughout the day. This morning, all classes tuned in to Tom Percival as he gave some drawing tips and read an extract from his new book. This was to promote the ‘Take 10 challenge’, where children were encouraged to read for 10 minutes and the main thing was to enjoy it!

Other classes did activities such as create self soothe boxes, baked cakes and we even had a book sale! Year 5 children created some videos promoting one of the 5 ways to well being – Be Active!

A wonderful day had by all, and we can’t wait to see what ideas our children have come up with for the class well being areas!
