We were very proud today to welcome Mark King from the Oliver King Foundation to deliver our community defibrillator and provide training to members of staff.
The Oliver King Foundation are determined to save as many young lives as possible. Their aim is to ensure that no other family has to suffer a similar loss to the family of Oliver King.
The Foundation was set up in January 2012 following the tragic death of 12-year-old Oliver King. Oliver died from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome, a hidden heart condition which kills 12 young people every week. Oliver attended King David High School in Liverpool and suffered a cardiac arrest whilst taking part in a swimming race. It is estimated that 270 children die every year.
We would like to thank Mark and Chris for visiting our school, providing a defibrillator and providing our staff with the training to use it.
What a superb way to end a half term with a right royal celebration! From the brilliant bake off, to the green screening photo booth, tattoos, nail painting, face painting, to the picnic lunch and national anthem – we have had a superb celebration. Wishing all our families, friends of the school and our team of staff a wonderful half term! Huge thank you to Mrs Jenks and Mrs Rayney for helping with a special role and also thanks to Mrs Tudor for organisation such a wonderful day!

The weather couldn’t spoil the Crowning of Our Lady and our May Procession earlier today on Wednesday. Thank you to our families for sending flowers and plants to make our annual tradition a very special service indeed. Year 6 led the service beautifully with readings and prayers and the glorious singing was incredible. Thank you Father Mark for coming to share this with us today.
Reception had a wonderful trip to the library. They walked very sensibly to and from the Library and all the children were so well behaved. They enjoyed listening to and sharing stories and then each made a rabbit puppet. A super trip!
To celebrate the Commonwealth Games this summer, we have joined with Connect Education who have organised a Wolverhampton Community Games in which schools across Wolverhampton will take part in competitions, events and tournaments. We celebrated the batons arrival in true SS Peter and Paul spirit, welcoming it with a dance routine from the children in. Each Year group contributed to the celebration, from flag making, to singing Jersey’s national anthem. It was wonderful to see all of the children representing our allocated country in their red and white clothing and we look forward to watching the games and cheering on Jersey!
Years 2 and 6 learnt the Jersey National Anthem, Years 1, 3 and 5 made flags and Years 2, 4 and our school dance club learnt a dance which you can watch below!
Congratulations to the children who received their their First Holy Communion on Saturday.
We are very proud of you all.
The charity National Numeracy and Times Tables Rock Stars have teamed up for a Rocking and Rolling Numbers live event, to get children across the UK feeling positive and confident about maths.
Number rolling is a catchy call-and-response chant with accompanying actions that help kids feel good about numbers.
At 9.30am today, our children joined the live stream and were part of this brilliant event, and amazingly, they did set a NEW GUINESS WORLD RECORD!!!
Yesterday, Miss Barrett took her school choir to join in ‘Singing in the Rain’ in Queen Square. The children who attended, really did her proud at this brilliant city school get together.
Well done to every school involved!
