SSPP Children’s Run

25th March 2022Mr J Morgan

On Wednesday, our children took part in their sponsored run to raise money for a school defibrillator. Years 2, 3, 4 and 6 went to Aldersley Stadium to do their runs around the track in 45 minutes. The remaining classes ran around a specially designed course in school, again seeing how many laps they could complete!

The effort from all the children, from our youngest in Nursery to our oldest in Year 6 was absolutely amazing and the support all our families and friends gave with donations was out of this world!

We look forward to supporting our staff running team on Sunday in the Wolverhampton 10k!

Yesterday, we had a visit from Pep the Poet! He came and shared some of his wonderful poems with all the children and also touched on how important having a postive wellbeing is in your life!

It was lovely to see so many children purchasing his books at the end of the day! Thank you to Mrs Walker for organising the visit!

Here is him performing the ‘scarecrow rap’

Football Match v St Andrews

9th March 2022Mr J Morgan
Children from Year 5 and 6 took part in a football match against St Andrews this week, demonstrating a high standard of teamwork and sportsmanship. In the first half we went up 1-0 thanks to a brilliantly crafted goal by Boyd. In the second half, St Andrews scored a goal to make it 1-1, with the ball trickling past our goal keeper. In the final moments of the match, it looked as though St Andrews were going to score a winning goal but Kacper denied them the chance of winning with fantastic goal-keeping acrobatics. The game ended as a draw but in a friendly penalty shootout, St Peter and Paul’s won by 10 goals to 5.
Here is Boyd’s goal – including an excellent celebration dedicated to the people of Ukraine.
We are extremely proud of our team and if you see them around school, be sure to congratulate them on their result.
