Yesterday, Father Mark led Mass in school with children in attendance for the first time in over 18 months. The children behaved reverently throughout as Father Mark spoke to us about Blessed Carlo Acutis. The younger classes that were not in attendance, watched and joined in via a live stream to their classroom.
We were very grateful today to welcome some visitors into school with a donation of 8 laptops to support the learning of the children at our school, who have suffered due to Covid-19.
Pat McFadden MP, together with Wolves Foundation set up Wolves Tech Aid, and they have kindly been working with other parties such as ‘Learn Play Foundation’ and United Sikhs’ to provide refurbished laptops to schools across Wolverhampton to help support learning.
We were very fortunate today to welcome these guests to our school to provide us with these devices, and even had a special guest as Wolfie turned up!
Thank you to everyone involved!
Today at SS Peter and Paul, we have celebrated Hello Yellow Day to promote our well-being in school.
Children and staff dressed in yellow and took park in lots of activities throughout the day. This morning, all classes tuned in to Tom Percival as he gave some drawing tips and read an extract from his new book. This was to promote the ‘Take 10 challenge’, where children were encouraged to read for 10 minutes and the main thing was to enjoy it!
Other classes did activities such as create self soothe boxes, baked cakes and we even had a book sale! Year 5 children created some videos promoting one of the 5 ways to well being – Be Active!
A wonderful day had by all, and we can’t wait to see what ideas our children have come up with for the class well being areas!
Year 1 have been reading Pete the Cat in their class! Not only have they been learning songs and doing some amazing writing, but they have also been making Pete the Cat masks! The children are learning how to write instructions and are going to write instructions so that you can also make your own Pete the Cat mask! Well done!
Our Year 5 and 6 children led a vigil last night for our Blessed Carlo Acutis at SS Peter and Paul Church. Prayers were shared, hymns were sung and work produced by our children was on show to everyone that attended. Well done everyone involved!
Today, all our children promoted going green for CAFOD. The children all came in green clothes and brought donations to contribute to CAFOD. Our Year 6 children made green cakes and cookies, our year 5 children sold green ice cream and nail painting and our wonderful Year 3 children went out litter picking in the local community! The whole school learnt about how they can help protect our planet and raised over £200 – well done!
We were very fortunate to have Mrs Hazeldine – the Principal from St Edmunds, come to visit our Year 4, 5 and 6 children yesterday. She also brought their well-being Edie, which was a treat for the pupils! She was explaining the excellent things on offer at St Edmunds when they start to think about which secondary school to continue their education and journey of Catholic faith.
