Here are the children that received praise this week!
Some of our key stage 2 children attended a Boccia event at WV Active today. They participated against other schools, showing wonderful respect for the other competitors.
Reception children and their parents enjoyed learning how a Part-Whole model can support their understanding of number bonds. Everyone who came enjoyed making their own to use at home.
Following on from our recent family workshops in Early Years, Year 2 and Year 6, it has been wonderful to see parents sending in pictures of them doing maths at home with their children using what was shared with them in the workshops.
Yesterday, we joined with all Catholic Schools to experience and participate in the launch for schools of the Jubilee Year – pilgrims of hope. This included joining together for a live stream with all Catholic schools in the diocese where this was introduced to all children where we joined together in hymn and prayer. Children participated in various learning throughout the day and then we ended the Jubilee launch day building the logo together in the hall. Each class created one part, learning about it’s symbolism before sharing this knowledge and building up each element to form a masterpiece!
Yesterday, some of our Year 2 children attended a multi-skills event at Aldersley High School. They competed in lots of challenges, which tested their balance, coordination, speed and hand-eye coordination!

Here are the children that received praise this week!
SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary Academy is proud to announce they have been recognised for their commitment to girls football with an Equal Access Award by the FA. This award has identified that we provide equal access among boys and girls, both in the curriculum and opportunities in extra-curricular football clubs, which is a great achievement for the school.
All girls participate in football during PE lessons – with a strong number also playing an active part in the football extra-curricular activities. We have also had many girls represent the school in girl’s football competitions but also in mixed events. The school takes real pride in being able to offer this opportunity to all pupils.
Additionally, we were really proud to be presented with an award to celebrate being a School Games Platinum school, one of only five primary schools in the city to do so!
Last night, our Year 5 children attended ‘the largest concert choir in the world’ – Young Voices at the BP Pulse LIVE arena. They joined with thousands of other children from schools across the midlands to sing a variety of songs including ‘dance the night away’.
