On Friday 29th June, some of our Years 3,4, 5 and 6 children represented the school in the Catholic Athletics Event, held at Our Lady & St Chad Catholic Academy.
The children competed in these events:
Long Jump, Ball Throw, Obstacle, 100m, 300m, and relay.
As with the last few years, our children competed brilliantly, and SS Peter and Paul came back with several medals, including a baton with the value ‘Truth’, showing our honesty when competing. Well done to all the children involved!
We celebrated our annual rainbow day last Friday. This year we were raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Mrs Willkhu kindly produced a unicorn cake, which was the main prize for the raffle, eventually won by a child in Reception.
Everyone joined in to support; Year 5 and 6 children ran stalls to raise money, Miss Aldridge did some art work, Miss Higgins, Mrs Kaur and Miss Rickhuss painted nails and faces and Mr Griffiths ran a penalty shootout competition with the help of the year 6 children.
Overall, we managed to raise an amazing £408.44!! (with £116 raised by the unicorn cake raffle alone!)
Thank you to everyone who donated!
Last Tuesday, on possibly one of the hottest days of the year, we had our Sports Day!
The children performed so well despite being in difficult conditions. We also had a lovely turn out from family members too – we know the children really appreciated having so many people there to support them.
We will be announcing the winning house in our next praise assembly.
On Friday morning, our saints feast day, we had our official opening of our new prayer garden. Father Mark came to bless the garden in front of our academy’s directors, governors, parents and our school council.
This was a lovely event, organised by Mrs Sandhu, which involved a celebratory tea party after.
We all feel privileged to have such a beautiful prayer garden designed by our own children of SS Peter and Paul. Many thanks to Father Mark, who was able to join us on this memorable day.
On Friday 15th June, SS Peter and Paul attended the Great School Run event at Aldersley Stadium. Years 3 – 6 attended all day, participating in lots of various activities including the run, whilst Years 1 and 2 joined us to do the run around Aldersley.
A wonderful day was had by all children, and thank you to all the parents and family members that came to support their children in the run.
A huge congratulations to everyone at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary Academy for raising £155.89 for NSPCC.
Thank you to everyone who donated!
Nursery children went on a trip to the Wildside Activity Centre where they enjoyed pond dipping, mini beast hunting and den building. They also created a natural collage, using as many colours as they could find. Everyone had a great time!
SS Peter and Paul’s latest wider curriculum week had an Art focus. The children focused their work around an artist and developed their artistic skills using a variety of media throughout the week. All classes produced some absolutely stunning pieces of work, and this culminated in having our own Art Gallery showing at the end of the week.
Congratulations to our Year 3 children who have celebrated their Holy Communion. The children produced a wonderful assembly, which was well attended by parents before half term. The children all looked wonderful in their Holy Communion clothes and were a credit to their families and the school.
