Our Year 6 pupils deserve special praise for their Easter Story assembly. It was deeply emotive and thought-provoking, capturing the solemnity and hope of Holy Week with maturity beyond their years. Many staff and parents commented on how powerfully they undertook specific roles to convey meaning – well done to all involved.
Our Year 3 children led their Liturgy with a focus on Lent and why is it a sacred season of preparation. The children focused on the different days in Lent and what they meant to them and the church. We ended our liturgy think about how we could be more like Jesus which links to our Holy week sculpture which was about following in Jesus’ footprints.
On Wednesday, we had Lorna Catana from Magic Breakfast deliver two assemblies to our children. These focused on educating our children on what makes a health breakfast and the importance of this. We are very proud to be a partner of magic breakfast and strive to ensure all our children have access to a healthy breakfast in the mornings.
Lorna was very impressed with the children’s thoughtful contributions to the Magic Breakfast assembly and the warm welcome she received.
Nursery and Reception enjoyed sharing songs, poems and stories with their mums to celebrate Mother’s Day. They were then given a flower the class had grown and cared for, with a love heart and a copy of the poem they have learnt.
A lot of our families have been celebrating Eid, and on Friday we were very grateful to one of our members of staff – Mrs Shaikh, who delivered an informative assembly to our older classes around the traditions of celebrating Eid.
Thank you and well done to Year 1, who produced a wonderful and thoughtful mother’s day assembly! They children thanked their mums for everything they do for them and also thanked our Mother Mary, who was there for Jesus at such a difficult time in his life.

Yesterday, Year 3 and 4 went to Walsall Art Gallery as part of their ongoing work for their art project. They saw an artist called Grace Emily Manning, who was displaying her work. They looked at the different pieces of art in the gallery and then had a workshop. The children then participated in a workshop where they made a sculpture out of plaster cast.
Year 2 were visited by the Little Makers team from the Black Country Museum. Following on from our visit a few weeks ago, children were reactivating their knowledge of landscapes. They created a background with watercolours, a midground using paper prints into a collage of buildings and added foreground detail using charcoal pencils. The children produced some excellent landscape artwork.
