On Monday, the School Council Leaders are raising funds by holding a Valentine Bake Sale. All funds raised will be used to deliver Random Acts of Kindness Gifts to people within our community during the week. Cakes and biscuits will be available to buy – please send your child with some money so they support our fundraising efforts.
Our Year 5 and 6 children had a treat yesterday when they were able to join a STEM workshop provided by Silverstone Museum.
The children found about the history of the race track, for example that it was used as a runway for planes in World War 2. The children reactivated their history skills when comparing images from the past and present.
They were also able to see, feel and discuss different objects from motor racing including a fuel cell, race suit, helmet and different tyres.
The children were also told about all the different jobs that are available in Formula 1! A lot of our children were inspired, one wanting to go on to be an engineer and another, a racing driver! Thanks goes to Silverstone for providing this and Children’s University for making it available to our school.
Year 6 had a wonderful retreat day. They represented the school very well; through their eloquent ideas and contributions and their exemplary behaviour. They are growing closer to the Holy Spirit and demonstrating dedication to their Sacramental preparation. Well done, Confirmandi.
Yesterday in school, we celebrated Safer Internet Day! Classes reactivated their learning on being safe online from their computing lessons and completed lots of different fun acticvites. Our children in Coding Club with Mr Morgan produced quizzes for children to answer and our younger children produced videos to remind us to be safe online!
Today is Safer Internet Day, and in school each class is going to be reactivating their computing learning this term by completing activities around how to be safe online.
Here is some useful information and activities for families to do the same at home:

Yesterday, pupils learned about Chinese New Year – 2022 the year of the tiger! We wish the Chinese members of our community a happy new year and a great celebration. Our Early Years celebrated this by coming to school dressed in red and linking their learning activities to the chinese new year! We would like to thank Dragon Gate Chinese Take Away at the Avion Centre who donated spring rolls and fortune cookies for all of the children.
Yesterday, our Year 4 and 5 children went on a wonderful visit to Chester Zoo. Splitting off into different groups, the children explored the zoo and learned about all the extraordinary different animals we have in our world.
The children saw gibbons playing, lions fighting and even a tarantula shedding it’s skin!!! Remember to ask your children about their visit and look out for their work to do with what they learned at Chester Zoo.
