Hello Yellow Day

11th October 2024Mr J Morgan

Yesterday, we acknowledged Hello Yellow Day in school while also linking in our work with zones of regulation. Children were able to dress in yellow or green (for the green zone) and there was a focus on our mental health throughout the day in all classes. This included a special SSPP Inside Out video and lots of mindful doodling!!

Nursery Wildside Visit

10th October 2024Mr J Morgan

Nursery children had a wonderful time at Wildside yesterday. In the morning they walked along the canal collecting natural objects such as stones, sticks and leaves. Then they all made a garden to take home, using the things they had collected, a plant and some sparkly stones.
In the afternoon we did pond dipping, bug hunting, built a den and had some free time to play.
Thank you to Wildside Activity Centre for providing this experience free of charge.

Author Visit

8th October 2024Mr J Morgan

Yesterday, some of our pupils, who have been demonstrating excellent commitment to logging their reading, visited Wolverhampton Grammar School for a ‘meet the author’ event.

The children met A.F. Steadman, who shared multiple books with them, including her most recent book – Skandar and the Unicorn Thief! As part of the event, the children also helped design a new unicorn character for her book!

All Aboard Festival

3rd October 2024Mr J Morgan

Children from Years 5 and 6 attended an event at Aldersley Leisure Village. They played a variety of inclusive events. First, they played dodgeball, where they did a warm up and then started playing dodgeball competitively and year 5 beat year 6. Then the children played a second match against the helpers – but the helpers won this match.

The children then participated in blind football, where children acted as guides for the players to dribble the ball to the other side. They then did blind penalties!

The next activity was ‘kinball’, also known as ‘pop-corn’. They had to keep the ball up with their legs. The team on the outside had to catch it. If you were sitting down you had to get it out of the circle.

The final activity was to choreograph their own dance moves to a song – each group performed brilliantly.

Year 4 – Class Saint Day

27th September 2024Mr J Morgan

Today, Year 4 celebrated their class saint’s feast day with a class liturgy in the hall with parents. The children shared the life of St. Vincent De Paul with those that attended and shared all the wonderful work he had done.

We also reflected and had time to think about how we can help people in need!
