Yesterday, Year 3 were invited to a special Yo! Wolverhampton Be Active Event at Aldersley Leisure Village. They participated in lots of different activities including Dance, Foot Pool, Jiu Jitsu and ultimate frisbee! It was great to find out that some of our children have been participating in some of these events outside of school too!
We were blessed with wonderful weather yesterday as all the children participated in their sports day! There was a brilliant supportive atmosphere, and children showed great determination, perseverance and self-challenge and a very respectful competitive spirit.
Thank you to all the families that came to support the children!
Congratulations to all of the young people of the parish who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday. Let us pray for these young people and their families. Amen
The children from SSPP will have a special Mass today, and a celebration afterwards in their classroom with their parents!
We were very proud to take a team today to play at the Wolves Foundation Molineux Cup!
The children started really well with a 4-0 win, and continued their strong performances through the group stage, finishing second and qualifying for the knockout phase.
In the quarter finals, we played Rakegate Primary and went 1-0 down! SSPP then threw everything at Rakegate and their keeper had to make some good saves, and we also hit the post! Then, as we were pushing for an equaliser, they caught us on the break and scored another goal unfortunately knocking us out of the competition.
The children should be very proud of their performances today!
Children in nursery are learning about healthy eating. They have tasted watermelon, kiwi fruit and blueberries at snack time, in addition to their daily fruit. They have learnt about Delicious Dairy and taken part in cheese tasting. The Red Leicester, Cheddar and smoked cheese were all popular!
Today, SS Peter and Paul were proud to attend a football event held in the memory of Tony McGinn. Tony McGinn was a teacher in the St Francis and St Clare MAC and was passionate about sport, especially football. Sadly in 2021, Tony passed away after a battle against cancer. Tony would have been extremely proud of the way the children represented SS Peter and Paul at the event today. The children who attended, showed incredible teamwork, determination and respect to each other and the opposition. Mr Morgan was extremely proud in how the children conducted themselves today!
Year 1 visited the library this afternoon. The children were treated to readings from the books “A Squash and a Squeeze” and “I really really need a wee”!
