Manny came to visit us today to join in the countdown to our very own London Marathon Challenge here at SS Peter & Paul. He cut the ribbon on our gate to open up the course today the day before he sets off for his own London Marathon Challenge! This April we are showing our personal best to try and take on the challenge of travelling a distance of wither 2.6 km or 2.6 miles. Year 3-6 started today, cheered on by their peers across the school, all the staff and our VIP guest!

Yesterday, the first ever World Daily Mile Day is took place on Thursday 27th April 2023. The Daily Mile is a simple, yet effective initiative where children run, jog, wheel, or toddle for just 15 minutes a day.
Hundreds of early years settings from around the world too part – including our own! Nursery completed 5 laps of the school field!
Here is Reception after they completed the Daily Mile 10th Anniversary challenge.
Last week we celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week in school!

Thank you to all the parents and family members that attended the Year 1 Parents Meeting for Phonics. This would have been really useful to enable you to support your children at home. Thanks to Mrs Tiwana for hosting the workshop.
Year 5 had the privilege of meeting author Alan Gibbons this week, as part of our celebrations around World Book Day. Alan has written over 60 books and won many prestigious awards such as the Blue Peter Award for ‘The Book I Couldn’t Put Down’, the Angus Book Award and the Stockport Book Award. He has also been shortlisted twice for the Carnegie Medal and his books have been published into dozens of languages.

The children arrived safely at around 12:25 this afternoon. They were then tasked with making their own beds and unpacking. The children then had lunch and we went for a walk, where we braved the torrential rain and gale force winds. The children are currently enjoying some free time before dinner.
