As we welcomed our children back for the start of a new year, each class engaged in a ‘Science week’. Every class focused on a specific area of Science and some children produced projects at home, which they brought into share with their class.

All week children produced lots of exciting Science work and all the classes shared these during an assembly at the end of the week.

Thank you to all the parents that helped support their children in their projects.

Some of our most talented brass players had their last lesson yesterday before they perform at the Wolverhampton Music School today. We wish them all the luck today and we also extend our thanks to Miss Oxley, who has taught them so well over the last few years.

Thank you for all of your donations for Rainbow Day. The children had a lot of fun; dancing, playing Samba, taking penalties and getting their face painted.

The total raised for our Peace Garden was £486.41. Thank you to all the children and parents for their kind donations.

Over the last two weeks of term, Mrs Willkhu and Mrs O’Brien Coleman have been providing the children from all year groups with a cooking experience. They have cooked a variety of food from pasta bake to apple crumble. The children have been really enthused by this experience and have really got a lot out of it. We thank Mrs Willkhu and Mrs O’Brien Coleman for all their hard work and culinary skills.

Last Thursday, our Year 6 class received a standing ovation for their version of Beauty and the Beast as part of their leaver’s assembly.

The children have been rehearsing hard for weeks and produced a wonderful performance, which had parents and teachers in tears. After the performance, the children shared their favourite memories from their time at SS Peter and Paul’s and then watched a video of their time at the school.

A special thanks to Miss Higgins and Mrs O’Leary for all their hard work in preparing the show.

Last Thursday, we took out city finalists to Aldersley Stadium to compete for medals in the Athletics. The children were already in the top 8 in the city in their event but were going to try to win a medal.

The children performed amazingly and did themselves proud in front of strong support from parents and teachers.

Tanaka came 2nd in the 80m Sprint and won a silver medal.

Rachel came 3rd in the Long Jump and won a bronze medal.

Giuseppe came 4th, narrowly missing out on a medal in the high jump.

Meah came 3rd in the 300m and won a bronze medal.

Alyssia came 3rd in the throwing competition and won a bronze medal.

Eros performed well against children a year older than him and came 6th in the city in the long jump.

Meah came 3rd again in the high jump and won a second bronze medal.

Kamila, Meah, Rachel and Alyssia came 5th in the city as part of the girls relay team.

A fantastic night!

On Friday 14th July, our Nursery Class had their graduation assembly. The children had a lovely day and thought about what they would like to be when they are older. By the looks of it, we may have a few superheroes!

Mrs Murphy kindly had a cake made with all their graduation pictures on so that the children could take home their own face on their cake.

Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful day in the sunshine at the Safari Park last Wednesday. They spent the morning viewing the park’s fantastic animals, including; elephants, rhinos, giraffes, lions, white tigers and crocodiles! The afternoon was just as action packed as they embraced the rides in the theme park with their teachers. What a wonderful way to end their year together. Here are a few of the pictures…
